Reporting a bug
Four things make a bug fixable fast:
- your phone model and OS version
- what you tapped, in order
- what you expected vs what happened
- a screenshot, with any personal details covered
Scanning and extraction
The AI got a date wrong. How do I fix it?
Open the document and edit the field directly — every extracted field stays editable after saving. Changing an expiry date reschedules that document's reminders automatically.
If you catch it on the review screen before saving, just correct it there. Nothing is stored until you confirm.
A field came back blank or marked "Please verify"
Please verify means the AI read something but isn't confident about it, so it's asking you to check rather than guessing quietly. A blank field means it couldn't find that detail at all — plenty of documents genuinely don't have a document number or an expiry date.
Type it in yourself and save. You can also leave the expiry date empty if the document doesn't expire; it'll just sit in your vault without reminders.
How do I get the best scan?
Lay the document flat on a surface that contrasts with the paper, get even light with no hard shadow, and hold the phone parallel to the page rather than at an angle. Let the edge detection settle before you tap — it's usually within a second.
For multi-page documents, keep adding pages inside the same scan rather than creating a separate document for each page.
Can I add a PDF or a photo I already have?
Yes — pick an existing image or PDF instead of scanning, and it goes through the same extraction and review flow.
Reminders
My reminders aren't arriving
Work through these in order — it's nearly always one of them:
- Notification permission. Check Docaza is allowed to send notifications in your phone's settings.
- Battery optimisation. Aggressive battery savers on Android can suppress scheduled notifications. Set Docaza to unrestricted battery use.
- Do Not Disturb / focus modes. These hold notifications back until the mode ends.
- The date itself. Open the document and confirm the expiry date is what you expect.
- The schedule. Check the reminder days set on that document.
Still nothing? Email us with your phone model and OS version.
Can I change when I'm reminded?
Yes. The default is 30, 7 and 1 day before expiry. You can change the default for everything, and override it on any individual document — useful for the ones that need three weeks of lead time rather than one.
Account, plans and data
What's included in the free plan?
Every feature, capped at 10 stored documents. Unlimited is $1 a month and lifts the cap — nothing else changes. Details on the pricing section.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Unlimited is billed by your app store, so you cancel it there:
- Google Play: Play Store → your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Docaza → Cancel.
- App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Docaza → Cancel subscription.
You keep Unlimited until the end of the period you've already paid for. Cancelling never deletes your documents.
What happens to my documents if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. You can still open, search, share and delete everything you've stored. You just can't add new documents until you're back under 10 or you resubscribe.
How do I delete my account and all my data?
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account, then confirm. That erases your documents, extracted details, reminders and account record server-side. It can't be undone, so share out anything you want to keep first.
If you can't get into the app, email support@alticllc.com from the address on the account and we'll do it for you.
Individual documents can be deleted any time without touching the rest of your account. More detail in the Privacy Policy.
Can I get my documents out of Docaza?
Yes — share any document as a PDF or as the original images, to email, cloud storage, or anywhere else your phone can send a file.
I forgot how I signed in
Try the sign-in method you'd normally use for a new app on that phone; the account is tied to the identity you first used. If you're stuck, email us with the email address you think it's under and we'll check.
Devices and availability
When will Docaza be available to install?
It's in development, Android first. Leave your email on the home page and we'll tell you once — when it's ready. We're not naming a date before we're sure of it.
Is there an iPhone version?
iOS is in development. Same answer on timing: no date until we're confident in one.
Does it work offline?
Reading a new document needs a connection, because that's when the AI extraction happens. Reminders are scheduled ahead of time, so they still reach you offline.
Is my data private?
Your documents sit in your own vault with access rules that let only your account read them, they're never used to train AI models, and they never appear in logs or analytics. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.
